Abdominal

I actually forgot about this guy until someone brought him up to me. Abdominal is from America's Hat (Canada). He's got a ton of great videos to check out, and Escape From The Pidgeon Hole (his second album) is dope, he's actually got one song where he just goes out to prove how great his breath control is by rapping 8 bars in one breath, then in a later verse, he raps 16 bars in one breath hahah its absolutely wild.

"He grew up in Toronto and attended Northern Secondary School in the late 80s and early 90s, gaining a reputation there for his cartoons and graphic design work. Using the name Abdominal, he formed his first rap crew with DJ Serious and Scott C. called Rushholme and they started recording tracks. A chance meeting in 1998 with DJ Fase led to them teaming up as Abs & Fase. They began recording and released the limited single Vinyl Frontier. This drew the attention of DJ Format and led to them collaborating. Abdominal's raps became a standout feature on DJ Format's first album, Music For the Mature B-Boy, released in 2003. From 2003 to 2005 they toured as part of Jurassic 5's European tour while in 2004 Abs and Fase released an album called Flowtation Device. Abdominal also appeared on DJ Format's second album, If You Can't Join 'Em… Beat 'Em, in 2005, alongside fellow Canadian rapper, D-Sisive."

He walked like 3 miles, lol. Nah, joking... Nice track!

I like this guy! His flows are smooth, and I love how he goes through three different speeds in the first minute without breaking stride. He's definitely got the pride of an MC and the skills to back it.

    Thanks for sharing this one.

Man, I got so excited for a second because I thought the school that I live really close to was the one he attended, but then I realized mine is actually called "Northview Heights Secondary School" or something like that.

    dang, sweet video!

I was lucky enough to see him live last night, at an open mic/poetry sort of event actually.

What's kind of cool is that I wouldn't have had any idea that he existed if it wasn't for your blog... Man, he blew the audience away, especially with his freestyling.

    Cheers
